The Smile Welfare Foundation is thrilled to announce a significant milestone in its mission to improve educational environments and student well-being. At Vembakkam Girls Higher Secondary School in Tiruvannamalai district, the completion of a new drinking water overhead tank, and water dispenser represents a crucial step towards supporting the health and academic success of 626 girl students from 6th to 12th grade.

This initiative, aimed at ensuring the sustained well-being of underprivileged students, involved the construction of a modern drinking water pump equipped with an overhead tank and water dispenser. The project was designed to address critical needs in water access and hygiene, thereby enhancing the overall school environment.

- Drinking Water Sump: A newly constructed sump now securely stores water, ensuring a reliable supply for the school. This infrastructure is vital for maintaining a consistent and safe water source.

In a significant stride towards improving sanitation and hygiene, the Mamandur Government Higher Secondary School in Tiruvannamalai district has recently witnessed a remarkable renovation of its toilet complex and the drinking water overhead tank. This pivotal project, spearheaded by the Smile Welfare Foundation under the School Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) initiative, has significantly enhanced both the toilet complex and the drinking water overhead tank, benefiting a total of 960 students, comprising 520 boys and 440 girls.

With a generous budget of approx Rs. 7,10,000, this renovation project addressed two critical areas: the school’s toilet complex and its drinking water overhead tank. The dual focus of the project underscores a holistic approach to improving essential infrastructure that directly impacts the health and daily experiences of students.
Toilet Complex Renovation:
- Modern Facilities: The toilet complex has been upgraded with new, durable fixtures and fittings, ensuring that the facilities are clean, functional, and user-friendly.
